Reality Is Unrealistic: This episode makes it seem as though eating a dozen eggs covered in loads of chili and cheese with a side of biscuits and a fruit bowl in under an hour would be this super difficult challenge you can only beat using a certain strategy. (Mordecai leaves the room as everyone stands there, speechless) No Sympathy: Bensons response to being told Rigby may be on the verge of death:. Benson apologizes to Mordecai for the No Sympathy comment and admitted: "it was a stupid thing to say." But it seems that Mordecai still finds it hard to forgive him because Benson should had never said such a thing in the first place. Jerkass Has a Point: Benson wasn't entirely wrong when chastising Mordecai for getting himself and Rigby into the mess they're in right now the real problem was that it wasn't the best time to say such a thing and that was a very wrong time. When the workers try to stop Mordecai from completing the challenge it's because of a problem none of the park crew are aware of that will be life or death for Mordecai. The manager is understanding and sympathetic, only refusing to sell Mordecai the hat outright because store policy prevents him from doing so. Here the restaurant workers are actually reasonable and as helpful as they can be under the circumstance, really only roadblocked by the store's policies. #Eggscellent challenge code#
Most episodes have the crew dealing with someone that is either just a Jerkass looking for trouble or someone functioning on a bizarre moral code that they unknowingly cross. He also goes the extra mile and says Benson's lousy behavior is why he has no real friends, with the park crew only spending any time with him because he signs their paychecks. Mordecai loses it and attacks Benson, telling the grouch that not everything is about their job (while not inccorrect) and, despite what he was doing before was impulsive and stupid, Rigby doesn't deserve being stuck in a coma. Here Benson decides to harp on them about poor work ethic and essentially blame Rigby for nearly getting himself killed. Most of the time, the guy just yells at Mordecai and Rigby for screwing up with no real bad blood between either party. Here, he really doesn't want to be involved and tries just Cutting the Knot to solve the problem but has to go along with a near-impossible task because Loophole Abuse isn't possible. He usually gets drawn into Rigby's shenanigans because he's just as onboard or he's Not so Above It All.
Mordecai being the more responsible one of the duo. Here, Rigby sends himself into a coma because he's allergic to eggs and can't come out of it without help. In any other episode, it would just result in hijinks that likely ends with Benson comedically yelling at him. Rigby causing a problem by indulging some random whim. Internal Deconstruction: This episode tears apart the normal formula of episodes by showing what happens when things aren't Played for Laughs:.
Insane Troll Logic: Rigby thought if he ate the eggs really fast (even though it's 12 eggs) then his allergy might not kick in. It was far too difficult to pick out favourites amongst such incredible creations. “I have been absolutely amazed at the level of creativity and effort that people have gone to in submitting their Easter challenge contributions. #Eggscellent challenge full#
